Born Cultural Centre

17 Dec

El Born Centre Cultural is an equipment that opened its doors last September, adding an interesting perspective both in the cultural and historical scene of the city. In this amazing space, you could see what was left (and hidden until now) of the prosperous times of the 1700s Barcelona, which lend to the surrendering of the city on the year 1714 after heroic resistance.
In the equipment, you can learn about how the city was on the 18th century through the archaeological site, permanent and temporary exhibitions. It is also a centre for activities such as music, dance, workshops and puppets, among others. All this inside an iron and glass market structure from 1871.
The activities and the entrance to the premises have a different range of prices, but still there is a space you can walk on the building and see the ruins without paying any fee.

Art in BCN !

4 Dec

Art lovers, there is a brand new way of enjoying art in Barcelona. Contemporary art galleries and museums are offering a journey through 37 spaces that work with emerging artists.
This is the very first time that the contemporary art centers of Barcelona are united on the same project.
To find the galleries, check a stick with a pill on the top (which symbolizes the curative power of art, a vitamins dose for the soul) in front of the galleries to help recognize them (see photo), and so there is a circuit anyone can do visiting the best contemporary art spaces the city has to offer.
